Sculpture for Beginners: Explore traditional and
contemporary sculpture through working with different materials and ways of
making including; plaster, clay and mixed media. No experience necessary - just
bring your own creative ideas to turn into sculpture!
Sculpture & Ceramics Workshop: Learn sculptural
techniques in clay, such as using and making armatures, developing hand building
techniques, projects and ideas. You will look into contemporary ceramicists and
sculptors for inspiration, work with a variety of clays glazes and be encouraged
to experiment with form and design. This course is suitable for learners with
some basic knowledge in clay.
Making Zines: A series of online workshops showing you the
history and techniques of zine-making. Zines are an excellent medium for
self-expression and creativity. A 'zine' is a self-authored mini-magazine and
can include all sorts of techniques, such as collaging, poems, drawing, writing,
and photography. Across the five weeks you will develop your own publication and
by the end of the course you could, if you want to, send it off to print.
Bookbinding: Taking a contemporary look at an ancient
technique, explore various ways of binding together paper to make books. This
could be to make your own sketchbooks or kick start your own novels.
Printmaking for Beginners: Work on a traditional printmaking
press to turn your favourite photos, ideas, sketches, drawings or paintings into
printed editions. Explore your own projects using different techniques including
monotype, collage, drypoint and block print.
Printmaking Workshop - Developing Printmaking:
For creatives who have worked with printmaking before either at the college or
in their own time - this is a space to develop personal print projects with
support from an experienced tutor. We will learn about contemporary and
historical artists who work with print and use processes including; lino,
drypoint, monotype, collograph.
